Michigan Central Station Restoration

IFM Scope: IFM was privileged to play a pivotal role in the restoration of historic Michigan Central Station in Detroit. MCS is a signature Detroit landmark, and it was an honor to play such a large part in bringing it back to its former glory.
We spent four years on that project, delivering major scopes for multiple subcontractors, including:

  • 130 flights of complete historical-reproduction stairs including cast reproduction newel post caps
  • Aged bronze elevator surrounds and transoms at the lobby elevators
  • All decorative mechanical grilles in the common areas, totaling over 2,000 square feet in multiple designs and sizes up to 70” x 130”
  • Design/build of historical reproduction cladding for the main entrance canopy
  • Reproduction ticket windows
  • Reproduction ornamental railings
  • Custom fan coil unit service covers throughout the building
  • Much more!
